OWEN SOUND – A pair of second period goals broke a 2-2 tie as the Owen Sound Attack downed the Guelph Storm 6-3 Saturday night.

Guelph opened the scoring on a goal by Braeden Bowman but a pair of goals had the Attack up 2-1 after the first period.

A Jake Karabela power play goal tied the game at 3:28 of the second period before goals by Colby Barlow and Ethan Burroughs had Owen Sound up 4-2 after two periods.

Brayden Guy's second goal in as many games narrowed it to 4-3 early in the third, but a power play by Servac Petrovsky and a penalty shot goal by Nic Porco iced the win for the Attack.

Danny Zhilkin had two assists for Guelph and Owen Bennett made 28 saves in net.

It was Guelph's fifth loss in its past six games.

At the halfway point of the regular season they sit in fifth place, three points back of fourth-place Windsor and four points ahead of sixth-place Owen Sound. Guelph has a game in hand on each of them.

Next up for the Storm is a road game Thursday in Windsor and a home game Friday against Owen Sound.
