Third period meltdown sinks Storm

OWEN SOUND – The Owen Sound Attack scored three unanswered goals in the third period to down the Guelph Storm 4-3 in Owen Sound Saturday night.

It was Guelph's fifth loss in a row and its seventh in the past eight games.

They now sit tied with the Attack for fifth place in the Western Conference.

Guelph led 1-0 after the first period and 3-1 after two, with goals coming from Ben McFarlane, Cooper Walker and Cam Allen.

The winning goal came with 3:16 remaining in the game, when Colby Barlow's shot from the boards hit Storm defenceman Ashton Reesor in front of the Storm net and deflected past Storm goaltender Owen Bennett.

Guelph was outshot 32-22 in the game.

Guelph plays in Sarnia on Wednesday then hosts Flint on Friday.
