Apparently she was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant

Apparently that’s not the answer she was hoping for.

A Guelph woman was arrested Tuesday after asking a police officer if she was wanted. Just after 1 p.m. Tuesday an officer was patrolling on foot downtown when the woman enquired about any outstanding warrants.

When queries revealed she was in fact wanted for missing court in early 2022 the woman responded that she would not be arrested and tried to walk away. Police attempted to take control of her but she began screaming and pushing officers away.

A 31-year-old Guelph woman was eventually arrested for failing to attend court and resisting arrest. She was later released to appear in court Jan. 5.
