Guelph police are seeking to identify and check the well-being of two parties involved in an altercation in the city’s west end Wednesday evening.

Approximately 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday police were called after a witness saw a male yelling at a female inside a vehicle in a parking lot near the intersection of Paisley Road and Imperial Road South. At one point the male also grabbed the female’s arm and forced her back into the vehicle when she tried to walk away.

Police arrived on scene within minutes but the vehicle had already left the parking lot and was last seen southbound on Imperial Road. Efforts to locate it were unsuccessful.

The vehicle was described as a dark blue, four-door sedan, possibly Nissan or Infiniti, with black steel rims. The involved male is described as Caucasian with a short, stocky build, short dark hair and wearing dark pants and a t-shirt. The female is described as Caucasian, approximately 5’2”, thin build with long hair past her shoulders. She was wearing pants and a winter jacket with fur on the hood.

Anyone able to assist in identifying the parties is asked to call the supervisor on duty of the Guelph Police Service at 519-824-1212, ext. 7315, leave an anonymous tip for Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave an anonymous tip online at www.csgw.tips.
