Arkell speed blitz sees six tickets in 90 minutes

Those tickets included a 77-year-old man charged with stunt driving for doing 91 km/h in a 50 km/h zone

A Guelph senior was taken off the road for stunt driving during a speed enforcement blitz Friday.

Responding to complaints from the public, a member of the Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit conducted speed enforcement on Arkell Road. During a 90-minute period, six drivers were stopped for speeding.

One of those drivers – a 77-year-old Guelph man – was further charged with stunt driving after he was clocked driving 91 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. His driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days and his vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
