Arrest made in November stabbing investigation

Burlington man charged after two victims treated for injuries

In the early morning hours of Nov. 24, 2019, there was a disturbance at a bar located in the downtown core of the City of Guelph. A physical altercation occurred that resulted in an adult male stabbing two other adult male patrons before being evicted from the bar by security. Both male victims were transported to Guelph General Hospital and were treated for their injuries.

Subsequent investigation resulted in the identification of the suspect. An arrest warrant was issued and on Jan. 29, 2020, the male was located in Burlington. He was then arrested on the strength of the warrant and transported to Guelph to be processed.

A 20-year-old Burlington male has been charged with:
    •    Assault with a weapon x2
    •    Weapons dangerous x2

He will appear in court on March 10, 2020.
