Asked to vacate home, man returns and breaks in, say police

Police report that the homeowner had asked an acquaintance to leave because of his 'erratic behaviour'

A Toronto man faces charges after breaking into the home of an acquaintance in Guelph.

Approximately 4 p.m. Thursday, police were called to a home near Grange Street and Victoria Road North. The homeowner was requesting an acquaintance be removed due to his erratic behaviour. The male complied and left on his own.

Twenty minutes later police were called back to the address where they found a basement window smashed and a side door kicked in. The male was located inside and arrested. Damage was estimated at $1,300.

A 28-year-old Toronto man us charged with break and enter and mischief under $5,000. He was held for a bail hearing Friday.
