Two arrested/two in hospital (UPDATED)

Police investigation ongoing, happened at the Bullfrog Plaza on Eramosa Road around 12:30 p.m.

Guelph police issued the following news release late Wednesday afternoon:

"Two males were transported to hospital and two more were arrested following a disturbance outside a business Wednesday.

Approximately 12:30 p.m. police were called to a business on Eramosa Road near Stevenson Street North for a report of a stabbing. Two males were transported to hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

One school in the immediate area was placed in lockdown while several others were placed in a hold and secure as a precautionary measure. All these measures were lifted just before 2 p.m. after two males were arrested.

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when it is available. Update: Update: 2:07 p.m.

Guelph police report that two males have been arrested after a "stabbing incident" at the Bullfrog Plaza on Eramosa Road.

Two people were taken to hospital.

The lockdown at nearby schools has been lifted.

Police confirm that two people have been taken to hospital with unconfirmed injuries as a result of an incident in the parking lot of the Bullfrog Plaza on Eramosa Road.

Police making it clear the original incident did not happen at a school.

Police say they responded to a weapons call at the location at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

It is not yet known if the lockdowns have been lifted at the schools or if/how many people have been taken into custody.

Update: 1:31 p.m.  The incident happened in the parking lot of the Bullfrog Plaza. Three police cruisers are on scene and officers are going in and out of the business.

Guelph police are reporting that several schools are currently in a hold and secure situation as police investigate an incident in the vicinity of Meyer Drive and Eramosa Road.

John F. Ross CVI and Ottawa Crescent Public School are the closest schools to this intersection.

Police ask that concerned parents do not call dispatch for updates. More information will be released as it becomes available.
