A Cambridge man faces charges after Guelph police responded to a break and enter in progress call early Friday.
Just after 4:30 a.m., police were called for a break and enter in progress at a commercial compound on Clair Road West, where a suspect was observed on video cutting wire from a large spool.
Officers arrived and located a male close to a large hole which had been cut in a perimeter fence. He climbed a barbed-wire fence to flee officers, but was located and arrested a short distance away. A search incident to arrest revealed a spring-assisted knife in his pocket.
A 44-year-old Cambridge man is charged with break and enter and unauthorized possession of a weapon.
