Cambridge man charged with racing on Hanlon Parkway

TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH - On Sunday June 2, 2019, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Parkway, south of Guelph. The officer observed a passenger vehicle travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 130 km/h, exceeding the posted speed limit by at least 50 km/h.

30-year-old Richard Jonathon Sidey of Cambridge has been charged with race a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Offences Court on August 21, 2019. The driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
