Guelph police are investigating after eight spools of copper wire were stolen Friday from a building under construction.

Police say that at approximately 2:25 a.m., two males kicked open a door to access the building in the area of Gordon Street and Gosling Gardens. Once inside they attended the parking garage where they stole the wire as well as several extension cords and wood 2x4s. They left the scene in a blue Ford F-150 pickup which had the licence plates mounted backwards.
