A Guelph man has been arrested after DNA linked him to a commercial break-in last summer.

Guelph police say the early morning of Sept. 1, someone attempted to enter a Fife Road business by breaking a glass door. Entry was not gained, but the suspect cut himself leaving traces of blood at the scene. Samples were collected and sent to the Centre of Forensic Science for analysis.

On March 25, police learned the samples were a match to someone in the national DNA database.

A 35-year-old Guelph man was arrested Thursday and charged with break and enter and breaching a probation order.
