Dog dispute leads to serious criminal charges

A Guelph man faces charges including break and enter and assault following a neighbour dispute over dogs, Guelph police report.

Just before 9 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to an apartment unit on Waterloo Avenue. A female reported her neighbour knocked on her door to confront her about an injury allegedly caused to his dog by the female’s dog. The man allegedly pushed his way into the apartment and grabbed the female by the face.

He also allegedly poured oil on the floor and commented he hoped the female’s dog would consume it.

Officers located the man a short time later and he was arrested. A 46-year-old man is charged with break and enter, assault, uttering threats and mischief under $5,000.
