Police say they have now laid charges in relation to a crash involving a sedan and a motorcycle last summer.

On Aug. 7, 2022, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a serious collision on Highway 7 at the Woolwich - Guelph Townline, between Guelph and Kitchener.

Initial reports indicated that a motorcycle and a sedan had collided and that the rider of the motorcycle was seriously injured, police said in a news release.

OPP and emergency service responded.

A 61-year-old from Guelph was transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

The driver of the sedan and two passengers were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Abraham Matwos, 34, of Kitchener has been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The defendant is scheduled to appear before the provincial offences court in Guelph at a later date.
