A Guelph female was arrested for impaired operation Tuesday, after her erratic driving caught the eye of an off-duty police officer.

Approximately 7:45 p.m., the complainant called the police regarding a vehicle driving erratically on Eastview Road. The caller advised the vehicle was driving approximately 25 km/h in a 60 km/h zone, swerving within its lane and braking for no reason.

Officers stopped the vehicle and observed the driver to be unsteady on her feet. They also observed a white substance around the driver’s nostril. The driver was transported to the police station where a certified drug recognition evaluator determined her ability to operate a vehicle was impaired by a drug.

A 43-year-old Guelph female is charged with impaired operation. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for seven days.
