Four charged in Guelph drug bust

Canine unit helps apprehend one suspect who fled out a back door

Earlier this month, the Guelph police drug unit started a trafficking investigation in the area of Willow Road and Dawson Road.

On Wednesday at approximately 10:15 a.m., members of the Drug Unit as well as the Guelph Police Service Tactics and Rescue Unit executed a search warrant at a residence believed to be involved in this drug trafficking operation. A 22-year-old Guelph male attempted to flee out the back of the residence and was arrested with the assistance of K9 Jett.

Three other adults located within the residence were also arrested.

Items seized included:

  • 23.46 grams of fentanyl with a street value of $4,600
  • 9.45 grams of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $450
  • 4.69 grams of cocaine with a street value of $800
  • numerous cell phones that will be later searched for evidence of drug trafficking
  • a contaminated digital scale
  • small zip lock ‘dime’ bags used to package drugs
  • a knife, baseball bat and a pellet gun
  • $985 cash

A 22-year-old Guelph male is charged with possessing fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of possessing a controlled substance, three counts of failing to comply with a release order and two counts of breaching probation. He was held for a bail hearing Thursday.

A 33-year-old Guelph male is charged with three counts of possessing a controlled substance and one count of failing to comply with a release order. He was held for a bail hearing Thursday.

A 20-year-old Guelph male is charged with possessing fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of possessing a controlled substance. He will appear in a Guelph court Sept. 7.

A 23-year-old Guelph female is charged with three counts of possessing a controlled substance. She will appear in a Guelph court Sept. 7.
