Four people charged in connection with the death of a Guelph man appeared in court for the first time.

Christopher Hanley, Jason Richardson, Lindsay Zinger and Darcy McGee have all been charged with accessory after the fact murder. All four appeared in a Guelph court separately by video Friday morning.

Richardson, 39, and Hanley, 43, both appeared from Maplehurst Correctional Centre in orange jumpsuits.

Zinger, 47, was in custody in Vanier Centre in Milton wearing a lime-coloured jumpsuit.

McGee, 37, was in a white hooded shirt at Guelph police headquarters.

Richardson and McGee will be back in court by video Nov. 10. Hanley and Zinger are back in court next by video Nov. 17.

A publication ban has been put in place on evidence in the case.

It is all in connection with an investigation involving a 45-year-old man, identified by police as 'Kenny.' The man's body was found outside the city last Friday.

The investigation included a lengthy search at a home on Guelph Street.

Police believe this to be a targeted incident, and there's no threat to public safety.
