Guelph police report that a male visiting from Germany was arrested Saturday evening and charged with committing an indecent act.

Police say that at approximately 10:15 p.m. they were called to a hotel in the city’s south end. A male advised police that he was supervising some children in a hallway when he walked past a room which had its door propped open. He looked in the open door and saw a male standing in the room masturbating and looking at him.

The complainant was able to move the children away from the door and did not know if any of them had seen the male. Police attended the room and located the male, who provided German identification.

A 33-year-old male was arrested for committing an indecent act, and was held for a bail hearing after advising he is returning to Germany soon and might not return for court. The male was released in bail court Sunday and ordered to appear in a Guelph court by video on Tuesday.
