Green fentanyl seized during motel drug bust

Officers also seized crystal meth, crack cocaine and cash

On Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Guelph Police Drug Unit arrested a male and a female in a vehicle in the parking lot of a motel on Woodlawn Road West. A backpack containing crystal methamphetamine (261.36 grams), green fentanyl (12.86 grams), crack cocaine (1.5 grams) and $650 in cash was seized.

A 34-year-old Guelph male and a 29-year-old Guelph female will face three charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the male is further charged with breach of probation. The two will appear in bail court today.

Green fentanyl is similar in appearance to cannabis and Guelph Police would like to remind the public of the dangers of this drug.
