A Guelph male faces charges after false prescriptions were submitted to several local pharmacies.

Between Oct. 18 and Nov. 8, fake prescriptions were faxed to four pharmacies using two different names. The prescriptions were for opiates and antibiotics.

In each case a male attended the pharmacy to pick up the prescription but left empty-handed. A suspect was identified from security video and arrested Wednesday at an address in the area of Exhibition Park.

A 33-year-old Guelph male is four counts each of uttering a forged document, identity fraud and identity theft and two counts of possessing identity documents. He will appear in a Guelph court Feb. 18.
