A Guelph male wanted on several outstanding charges was arrested early Tuesday following a brief foot pursuit.
About 3:35 a.m. Guelph police were called Guelph Police Service was called about a suspicious male trying to climb into a garbage bin behind a business on Eramosa Road near Stevenson Street North.
When officers arrived the male took off on foot but was caught a short time later.
A 51-year-old Guelph male was arrested on outstanding charges of assault with intent to resist arrest, possess break-in instruments and theft under $5,000 as well as a new charge of failing to appear.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing on Tuesday.
