A Guelph man was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into recent commercial break-ins.

Shortly after noon, police executed a search warrant at an address near Neeve Street and Wellington Street East. Inside officers recovered property stolen from a restaurant break-in last Friday morning, as well as clothing similar to that seen on surveillance video from a break-in at another restaurant the same morning.

During the investigation, officers also determined power tools stolen earlier this week from a trailer on Essex Street had been sold through an online marketplace to an unsuspecting buyer for $700. Officers were able to locate and recover the tools, with the buyer now being out the money he paid for them.

A 35-year-old man is charged with two counts of break and enter, trafficking in stolen property, possessing stolen property under $5,000 and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
