On Saturday at approximately 2:25 a.m., Guelph police service officers attended a domestic dispute call for service.
As a result of the investigation a 13-year police officer employed by the Guelph Police Service was charged with one count of assault and subsequently released, reports Guelph police.
The member is not on active duty at this time.
Guelph police did not name the officer.
