TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Feb. 9, 2021, at approximately 12:30 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded a report of a white passenger vehicle that was stuck in a ditch on Wellington Road 18 in Aboyne.

Police attended and while speaking with the driver, formed the opinion that they were impaired by drugs. The driver was arrested and transported to a local OPP detachment for further testing.

Brenton James Cossar, 29 years old of Kitchener has been charged with Driving while Impaired by Drug and Possession of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance.

A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on Feb. 23, 2021.
