Impaired, dangerous driving charges for male who drove into two parked cars

A Guelph male faces charges after he was involved in two collisions Thursday morning, report Guelph police.

Approximately 9 a.m., several witnesses reported a car driving erratically on Poppy Drive. The car was swerving, driving on the wrong side of the road and struck a parked vehicle before leaving the scene. A short time later the same car struck a parked vehicle on Beaver Meadow Drive, demolishing both vehicles.

Police spoke to the driver, who was showing obvious signs of impairment. He was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries, and complied with a demand to provide a blood sample for analysis.

A 36-year-old Guelph male is charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving and failing to stop at a collision. He will appear in a Guelph court Jan. 11.
