TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA - On Jan. 27, 2020, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on the Woolwich-Guelph Townline near Speedvale Avenue West in the Township of Guelph/Eramosa. At approximately 10:30 p.m., the driver of a blue sport utility vehicle entered the R.I.D.E. check.

Officers formed the opinion that the driver had been consuming alcohol. A roadside screening test was conducted and the driver registered a fail. Investigators also discovered that the drive was suspended. They were arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Vlado W. Skrinjarc, 53-years-old of Kitchener, has been charged with impaired operation - 80 plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code and suspended driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (ADLS) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on March 6, 2020.
