A Guelph teen faces a weapons charge after someone was seen brandishing a knife outside a downtown bar early Sunday.

Just before 2 a.m. police were called to the area of Macdonell Street and Wyndham Street North for reports of someone swinging around a pocket knife and threatening to stab passersby.

The male was located in the area and arrested. A knife was recovered from a nearby garbage can. A 17-year-old Guelph male is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
