Male charged with racing on Hanlon Parkway

He locked in going over 140 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone

On Monday May 20, 2019, at approximately 3:45 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Parkway at Laird Road in the City of Guelph. 

The officer observed a passenger vehicle travelling above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 140 km/h.

Dhruvit Jayeshbhai Patel, 23-years-old of Guelph has been charged with race a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on August 21, 2019.

The driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
