A Christmas morning assault in Downtown Guelph left one man with a bloody cut to the face, and another man arrested.
Guelph police say a man was outside a licensed establishment around 2:45 a.m. Monday, when a second man came up and the two engaged in a verbal spat.
Police say the altercation turned violent when the second man struck the first man in the face with an unopened beverage can, causing the victim to sustain a cut next to his eye, which began to bleed immediately.
The suspect fled, but was later found and arrested at a south end home.
He was charged with assault with a weapon.
