Officers attending collision scene arrest passerby for impaired driving

On April 12, 2018 at approximately 11:15 p.m., Guelph police were on the scene of a single motor vehicle collision on Edinburgh Road South, near McCurdy Road. An officer was directing traffic as a result of this collision.

While directing traffic, a police officer observed a vehicle that is alleged to have been driving erratically. The vehicle was stopped and the driver spoken to. As a result of this conversation, the driver was arrested for impaired driving.

Richard Andrews, a 48-year-old Guelph man, was charged with impaired driving and over 80. He was given a May 1, 2018 court date.
