An open-line 911 call led to the arrest of a Guelph man on Friday.

At 1:40 p.m. Friday, police received a 911 call. There was no voice contact, but the call taker could hear arguing in the background. Investigation led officers to an address near Victoria Road South and York Road, where they located the parties involved in the argument.

While on scene, officers spoke to a male who provided a fake name. His identity was confirmed using police records and the man was arrested. Investigation determined he was wanted on warrants from other jurisdictions.

A 36-year-old Guelph man is charged with obstructing police and breaching a probation order.
