Pair charged with drug trafficking

Police seized more than $4,000 worth of crystal meth in the arrest

A Guelph couple face trafficking charges following their arrests last Friday.

On Friday, members of the Guelph Police Service Break Enter Auto Theft (BEAT) Unit began an investigation after receiving information about drug trafficking. Officers stopped a vehicle in a parking lot on Silvercreek Parkway North and arrested the occupants.

During a search incident to arrest officers recovered more than $4,000 worth of suspected crystal methamphetamine, a small amount of fentanyl and cash.

A 26-year-old Guelph man and 30-year-old Guelph woman are each charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. The woman is also charged with possessing a controlled substance.
