Parked car hit, driver faces cannabis charges

On May 12, 2019 at 9:35 p.m., Guelph Police received the report that (the driver of) a vehicle backed into a parked car on Sanderson Drive and was possibly intoxicated. Police located the man and a roadside test with an approved screening device was conducted. He failed this test and was arrested. A subsequent search of his vehicle discovered a large quantity of cannabis. Breath tests at the station was not high enough to continue with that charge, however he was charged in relation to the cannabis.

The 36-year-old Guelph man has been charged with possession for the purpose of distributing cannabis, possess cannabis over 30 grams and possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling under the Cannabis Act.

He will appear in court on June 18, 2019.
