Police arrest alleged east end porch pirate

A Guelph female faces charges following a pair of thefts from porches in the city’s east end.

Just before 11 a.m. Thursday Guelph Police Service officers stopped a woman near Starwood Drive and Summit Ridge Drive after receiving reports of someone removing a package from a nearby porch. She was found to be in possession of an open Amazon package in someone else’s name.

Investigation revealed the same woman had been involved in a similar theft a day earlier from another nearby home.

A 21-year-old Guelph woman is charged with theft under $5,000 and possessing stolen property under $5,000.
