Police find fentanyl during RIDE check

Two Guelph women face numerous charges after police locate drugs, stolen tools

TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH - On Thursday Nov. 22, 2018, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Brock Road South, Aberfoyle.

At approximately 1:30 a.m a black pickup truck entered the RIDE. While speaking with the two female occupants, police formed the opinion that they were in possession of illegal drugs and the two were arrested.

A search of the vehicle located drugs and a quantity of stolen tools. Both occupants were also discovered to have breached preceding court orders.

28-year-old, Amanda Marilyn Wright, of Guelph, was charged with:

  • Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • Failing to comply with an undertaking

She was held for bail.

18-year-old, [name removed, charges withdrawn], of Guelph, was charged with:

  • Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • Failing to comply with probation order
  • Failing to comply with an undertaking.

She was held for bail.
