Police have released video of a stolen pickup truck being used to smash through the front door of an Aberfoyle business earlier this month.

Shortly after midnight on Jan. 12, three suspects broke into a Brock Road South business, loaded the bed with power trimmers and generators, then fled. The vehicle, which had been reported stolen in Guelph, was later abandoned and set on fire, Wellington OPP said at the time.

“An incredible amount of damage caused for minimal gains,” Const. Joshua Cunningham of Wellington OPP said in a tweet used to distribute the break-in video.

Police reported two pickup trucks were used by the suspects.

Investigators are hoping the public can help identify the second one – a silver GMC pickup that was last seen travelling south on Brock Road South (Highway 6).

Suspects are described as:

  1. male, wearing a red camo jacket and blue pants
  2. male wearing dark clothing, green gloves and a hoodie
  3. male wearing a dark grey jacket and a dark winter tuque and dark face mask

Preliminary estimates put damages to the building near $50,000, police said.
