A driver faces charges after he was involved in two collisions Saturday night.

Approximately 9:20 p.m. a witness called to report a vehicle striking a sign on Clair Road East near Gordon Street. The collision tore off the front bumper and grille, which the driver retrieved and placed on the back seat before leaving the area.

Less than 30 minutes later, the same vehicle collided with a parked car nearby on Goodwin Drive. Officers arrived and spoke to the driver, who provided a breath sample but was not over the legal limit.

A 25-year-old man is charged with careless driving and failing to remain at a collision. He will appear in court Jan. 17.
