Police have launched an investigation after they responded to a report of an aggressive in-person fraud attempt targeting a local grandparent.
Wellington County OPP say on March 2, at around 1 p.m., they responded to a report of an active fraud at a residence in Fergus.
It was reported an unknown individual was in a home attempting to collect money that the victim believed to was to pay a bond/bail for their grandson.
The OPP took two individuals into custody. Investigation revealed the victim's grandson did not require a bond/bail, police said.
The investigation is currently ongoing, and OPP are asking anyone who has been contacted in a similar manner to call police at 1-888-310-1122.
