The Guelph police are investigating a commercial burglary Thursday in which the suspect smashed two windows to gain entry.

Officers were called to the business on Edinburgh Road South near Forest Street about 6:40 a.m. The owner of the business advised he got a call from his alarm company about 30 minutes earlier and attended the business to find exterior and interior glass doors smashed.

Officers reviewed security video, which showed the suspect walking back and forth in front of the store several times before picking up a rock and throwing it through the glass door. He smashed a second glass door by the same method. An unknown quantity of product was stolen.

The male is described as Caucasian, 35 to 45 years, medium build, wearing a dark hoodie, vest-style jacket, jeans and two-tone shoes with a reflective strip on the back. He was last seen northbound on foot on Edinburgh Road South.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Const. Jagdeep Atwal at 519-824-1212, ext. 7436, email him at [email protected], leave an anonymous tip for Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or leave an anonymous tip online at www.csgw.tips.
