A Guelph woman was arrested Monday after a worker at a social service agency reportedly had steaming hot coffee thrown in her face, Guelph police report.

Approximately 8:40 a.m. the woman attended an agency located in the downtown area and was found by staff walking around inside. She was approached by a staff member and reminded she had been trespassed from the agency a few days earlier.

The woman became upset and threw her coffee in the employee’s face, causing redness and temporary vision loss. The suspect fled on foot but was located by police a short distance away and arrested.

A 31-year-old is charged with assault with a weapon, breaching probation and trespassing. She was held for a bail hearing Tuesday.
