Two trailers which were loaded with more than $100,000 worth of alcohol when they were stolen last month have been recovered, report Guelph police, but their loads are still missing.

On Jan. 29, police were called to a yard on Clair Road West. Two trailers full of alcohol had been disconnected from their trucks and hauled away. Each contained more than US$40,000 worth of liquor.

One of the trailers was located empty a few days later in York Region. The second was located empty earlier this week on Southgate Drive, a short distance from where it was stolen.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Constable Josh van Breda of the Guelph Police Break Enter Auto Theft (BEAT) Unit at 519-824-1212, ext. 7417, email [email protected], leave an anonymous message for Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or leave an anonymous tip online at www.csgw.tips.
