Stolen truck only part of the loss

Hockey equipment, tools and climbing gear were in the truck that was stolen, police say

Guelph police report that a stolen pickup truck contained almost $14,000 worth of valuables.

They say sometime between 9 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, a black 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche was taken from the driveway of a residence located near the intersection of Clair Road East and Victoria Road South.

The vehicle contained numerous pieces of property including:

- Brown leather wallet with identity documents, financial cards and $105 cash

- Blue, red and white hockey bag containing $3,000 worth of hockey equipment

- $10,000 worth of various tools

- Grey backpack containing $150 worth of clothes

- Black backpack containing $600 worth of climbing gear

Guelph police would like to encourage the public to never leave valuables in a vehicle.
