Three charged with racing in one night

On Tuesday March 19, 2019, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police officer was monitoring traffic and conducting speed enforcement on the Hanlon Expressway near Laird Road. The officer observed a silver coupe travelling northbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on LIDAR in excess of 150 km/h.

Cody Jesso, 19-years-old of Cambridge has been charged with race a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 1, 2019. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

On Tuesday March 19, 2019, at approximately 9:40 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police officer was monitoring traffic and conducting speed enforcement on the Hanlon Expressway near Laird Road. The officer observed a black sport utility vehicle travelling northbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on LIDAR in excess of 135 km/h.

An 18-years-old Uxbridge woman has been charged with race a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 1, 2019. Her driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

On Tuesday March 19, 2019, at approximately 6:45 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police officer was travelling southbound on the Twelfth Line south of Wellington Road 11 while conducting radar and monitoring traffic. The officer observed a black sport utility vehicle travelling northbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit.

The SUV was locked on radar travelling at a speed in excess of 135 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

Tamara Hessels, 37-year-old of Mapleton Township has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 1, 2019. Her driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
