Two Erin residents charged with impaired driving after separate single-vehicle crashes

In one case, the vehicle landed in the ditch while in the other, a pick-up truck left the roadway and collided with some trees, police say

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Aug. 14, 2020, at approximately 8:00 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a motor vehicle in the ditch on 15th Side Road near Beatty Line in the Township of Centre Wellington. 

Officers located the vehicle and while speaking with the driver determined that they had consumed alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

Joshua Foy, 25-years-old of Erin has been charged with impaired operation - 80 plus (mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code. A

90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph on Sept. 15, 2020.

TOWN OF ERIN - On Aug. 15, 2020, at approximately 7:40 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single motor vehicle collision on the Eighth Line in the Town of Erin. It was reported that a pick-up truck was southbound when it left the roadway and collided with some trees. A passerby witnessed the vehicle being driven out of the ditch and called police.

Officers located the vehicle that was heavily damaged and while speaking with the driver determined that they had consumed alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

Jeremy Brown, 24-years-old of Erin has been charged with impaired operation - 80 plus (mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
