Guelph police continue to investigate after two cruisers were reportedly intentionally struck during a traffic stop early Sunday morning.

Police say that approximately 2:45 a.m. officers on patrol observed a vehicle leaving an address on Willow Road. Queries of the licence plate revealed the owner was wanted for breaching a release order and was subject to house arrest.

Officers conducted a traffic stop nearby, with cruisers stopping in front of and behind the vehicle. The driver reversed, striking one cruiser, then drove forward and hit the other before exiting the vehicle and fleeing on foot. No injuries were sustained.

A canine track was conducted but the man was not located. A 31-year-old Guelph man is wanted for dangerous driving, flight from police, failing to stop at a collision and breaching a release order.
