Waterloo-Guelph Human Trafficking Team make arrest in September investigation

In September 2021, members of the Joint Waterloo-Guelph Human Trafficking Team initiated an investigation into alleged human trafficking, after the victim was referred to the team by a community member.

On Oct. 3, 2021, as a result of the ongoing investigation, a 31-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with:
    •    trafficking in persons
    •    two counts of adult material benefit
    •    procuring
    •    administer noxious thing
    •    sexual assault
    •    sexual assault - threats to a third party
    •    utter threats

The male was held for a bail hearing.

The victim has been provided with wrap around support services from Victim Services.
