GUELPH/ERAMOSA — A piece of local history remains.

There is an antique road grader on display at the Marden Shop. It was last restored in 2004. During their Wednesday afternoon meeting, the Guelph/Eramosa committee of the whole decided to restore it once more.

“So this is a historical, original grader, right, that’s been out there. We don’t have a lot of agricultural things. It’s a nice display,” White said.

“I think if we take care of it, it’s worthwhile maintaining.”

The committee acknowledged the option of doing away with the grader.

“The option which is, I would not support at all, would be get rid of it. I mean who’s going to do that with something like this, right. So I think it would be a nice display out of the park or wherever. You may relocate it.”

In the end, the committee directed staff to restore the antique grader.

Things that can be done to care for the grader include sandblasting it, painting it, and putting it on a concrete pad.
