Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health has confirmed a case of COVID-19 at Waverley Drive Public School.

The case was confirmed on Sunday and a letter will be sent home with students on Monday, said a notice on the school's web site.

The case was a single person and no classroom has been closed because of it.

Privacy legislation prevents the individual from being identified, so it is not known if it was a staff member or a student.

This is the sixth school to have a case confirmed. The others are St. Peter Catholic School, St. Joseph Catholic School, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic High School, June Avenue Public School and Ecole Arbour Vista.

The University of Guelph has had three cases confirmed, with two of those now resolved.
