COVID outbreak at Village of Riverside Glen now over

Only four active cases remain in Guelph, says Public Health

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health says the institutional outbreak at the Village of Riverside Glen is over.

"The outbreak at Riverside Glen have been declared over. The Retirement Home was declared over on July 30 and Long-Term Care Home was declared over on Aug. 4," said an email from Public Health.

The outbreak, which involved eight staff members, was reported July 17.

They also confirmed that the number of active COVID cases in the City of Guelph is down to four.

According to Public Health, an outbreak is defined as one or more confirmed cases of COVID-19 within a facility (long-term care home, retirement home or hospital. An outbreak is declared over 14 days after symptoms began in the most recent case and when no other cases are suspect.
