A supermarket in Downtown Guelph says exposure to the Market Fresh community is low risk after an employee recently tested positive for COVID-19.
Market Fresh on Paisley Street posted on its Instagram on Tuesday that one of its employees recently tested positive for the coronavirus.
A deep sanitization of the store was completed while closed overnight between Monday and Tuesday.
The store remains open to the public.
"This is beyond our already elevated and thorough practices," said the company in the Instagram post.
The employee's last shift was last Thursday and they are currently isolating at home and doing well, according to the post.
Market Fresh said Based on Public Health investigations, exposure to the Market Fresh community is low risk. Contact tracing is being conducted by Public Health.
The company has promised to continue sharing the most up-to-date information with customers and staff.
A spokesperson for Public Health said they would generally not comment on a case at a private business unless they felt there was an identified risk to the public.
